At The Nest at Brannon Ridge Reserve, we believe that luxury doesn’t have to mean large — it means living intentionally, beautifully, and sustainably.
Our smaller-footprint homes are designed to deliver everything you need — sleek, comfortable spaces without excess — while embracing the natural beauty of the mountains around you.
Our homes champion the highest levels of sustainable, high-performance design based on a holistic, systems-based approach. Every decision — from the structure to the finishing touches — is made with efficiency, comfort, and connection to nature in mind.
Our traditional homes, built by local builder Morse Construction continue to exude quality and elegance.
Our newest modular homes, built locally by Mustard Seed Tiny Homes in Buford, Georgia, use precision construction to reduce waste, increase energy efficiency, and deliver outstanding quality.
Living smaller at The Nest means living better — with more time to enjoy the mountains, the trails, and the connected community around you.
About the Founder: Kim Bucciero's Story
From City Streets to Mountain Dreams: The Journey Behind The Nest
Kim Bucciero is an entrepreneur who has worked in the real estate and development field since 2004. As a Georgia Tech graduate and a native Atlantan, Kim has long been passionate about building communities in Georgia that thoughtfully utilize space — both indoors and outdoors — to foster a deeper connection to the environment and to each other.
After successfully selling her previous development company in 2014, Kim realized that the traditional markers of success — a large house, a fast-paced lifestyle, endless accumulation — no longer aligned with her deeper values. Seeking clarity, she embarked on a transformative journey to Indonesia, where she lived simply on an organic permaculture farm, carrying only what fit in a single backpack. Studying yoga and living in harmony with nature, she returned to Georgia with a new mission: to create spaces that prioritize experience over excess, sustainability over sprawl, and authentic community over isolation.
Upon returning, Kim helped to found the MicroLife Institute, a nonprofit focused on expanding housing options and reimagining the way we live. MicroLife specializes in developing "Pocket Neighborhoods," believing there is room for homes of all shapes and sizes — homes that meet the needs of all kinds of people, reduce carbon footprints, create community, allow people to age in place with dignity, and add critical missing middle housing stock to the market. Kim served as MicroLife’s Chief Financial Officer and as a board member for nearly a decade, helping shape its growth and mission.
While The Nest at Brannon Ridge Reserve is not a MicroLife Institute development, it incorporates many of the same principles that Kim championed: community-focused, intentional development that prioritizes thoughtful design, sustainability, and meaningful neighborly connections.
The name The Nest was inspired by the community's setting — perched high atop a mountain ridge, where each home feels like a bird’s nest, cradled in the trees and offering expansive views of the surrounding landscape. Standing at the windows of these homes, it's easy to feel as though you're perched in your own nest, connected to the world yet protected by the natural beauty around you.
In keeping with this vision, each of our thoughtfully designed floor plans is named after a different bird, celebrating the idea that no two "nests" are exactly alike. Whether you're seeking something cozy and compact or open and expansive, there's a perfect "nest" to suit your lifestyle and taste.
Blending her love of modern architecture with her passion for minimalist living, sustainable design, and community building, Kim set out to create a neighborhood unlike any other — one that would tread lightly on the land, nurture neighborly bonds, and provide a true sense of place.
Today, with nearly 30 homes completed and a growing, vibrant community, The Nest stands as a testament to that dream.
Kim now lives full-time at The Nest, continuing to guide its growth with the same dedication and care that inspired its beginning.
